I am Willa Jackson, a mother, grandmother, aunt of many and a retired middle school classroom teacher. I have a passion for children, and am on a mission to help protect both teens and women globally who suffer in silence with pain, heavy bleeding, unhealthy menstrual cycles and the potential toxicity of tampon use. My goal is to bring light to a taboo subject that has silenced females globally and to offer a healthy alternative.
Many women are going to the doctor for ailments like itching, swelling, redness, urinary tract infections, bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections. Young girls are being given birth control pills to slow down their heavy menstrual bleeding. Women are receiving over 500,000 hysterectomies annually mostly to Black and brown women. How much of this could be caused by what we're wearing up next to and inside our bodies during our menstrual cycles? This, in my opinion, is a conversation worth having.
